Strict monitoring and accountability measures to ensure adherence to state guidelines
Jalandhar : Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today instructed all executing agencies in the district to ensure top-notch quality in the ongoing development projects. Chairing a review meeting with Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) and representatives from departments including the Public Works Department (PWD), Punjab Mandi Board, Panchayati Raj, Jalandhar Municipal Corporation, and various Nagar Councils, Dr. Aggarwal emphasized that the state government has issued clear directions mandating strict quality standards for all projects.
Accompained by Commissioner Jalandhar Municipal Corporation Sandeep Rishi, the Deputy Commissioner directed SDMs to personally inspect ongoing works within their respective jurisdictions and ensure compliance with prescribed parameters. He further stated that the inspection reports would be compiled and reviewed by ADC Jasbir Singh for preparation of a comprehensive district-level report.
Dr. Aggarwal and Comissioner Sandeep Rishi made it clear that accountability would be fixed wherever discrepancies or substandard work were found. Strict action will be taken against any officials or agencies compromising on quality and standards.
These directions come in the wake of detailed guidelines recently issued by the state government to enhance transparency, ensure durability, and maintain public trust in development initiatives across Punjab.
