Amritsar: In a significant development, the Amritsar Rural Police have arrested two individuals, Bikramjit Singh, alias Bikram, and Karan, in connection with the brutal murder of Italy-based Malkit Singh in Raja Sansi, Amritsar.

Authorities revealed that Bikramjit Singh has links with the terrorist group Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) and a long criminal record, including cases under the Explosives Act, Attempt to Murder, and Arms Act. He was also reportedly involved in a 2018 grenade attack at a religious site in Raja Sansi.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Bikramjit acted on the directions of foreign handlers, allegedly sourcing illegal weapons from across the border to carry out high-profile crimes in Punjab.

During the operation, police recovered a cache of firearms, including four pistols and one revolver. The recovered weapons consist of a PX5 foreign-made .30 caliber pistol, a .30 caliber pistol, a .45 caliber foreign-made pistol, a .32 caliber pistol, a revolver, and several live cartridges.

Authorities said further investigations are underway to uncover the full network, including both upstream and downstream connections, and to dismantle the organized crime and terror linkages in the region.

Punjab Police reaffirmed their commitment to tackling organized crime and terrorism to ensure the safety and security of the state.
