Chasing a target of 168, the hosts were bundled out for just 119 runs in 18.2 overs. Washington Sundar starred with the ball, taking 3 wickets for only 3 runs, while Axar Patel and Shivam Dube picked up two wickets each.
Earlier, India, batting first after losing the toss, posted 167 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. Shubman Gill top-scored with 46 runs and shared a 56-run opening stand with Abhishek Sharma. Captain Suryakumar Yadav contributed 20, while Shivam Dube added 22 runs. For Australia, Nathan Ellis and Adam Zampa took three wickets each, while Xavier Bartlett and Marcus Stoinis claimed one apiece.
With this win, India have taken a 2-1 lead in the five-match T20 series. The first game ended without a result, while Australia won the second to go 1-0 up. India bounced back in the third match to level the series and have now gained the upper hand.
