Canada-Based Journalist Gurpiar Singh Abducted from Mohali Office by Two Nihang Men

Mohali: In a disturbing turn of events, Canada-based journalist and Hamdard TV anchor Gurpiar Singh was reportedly kidnapped on Tuesday evening by two Nihang men from the channel’s office in Shivalik Vihar, Naya Gaon, SAS Nagar (Mohali). The incident occurred around 5:15 p.m., shocking the local media community.

Preliminary reports indicate that the two unidentified Nihangs entered Hamdard TV’s office (G-34) and forcibly took Singh away before fleeing the scene. The reason behind the abduction remains unknown.

Amar Singh Bhullar, Hamdard TV’s Canada-based owner and Chief Editor, confirmed the incident and said local authorities had been informed immediately. Following his input, the Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and senior officers launched an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the suspects and trace their movements.

Police have not yet released any official statement regarding the motive or the journalist’s whereabouts. However, sources say multiple teams have been deployed to conduct raids and follow leads in the case.
