New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated two major National Highway projects in the capital, marking a significant step in easing traffic congestion and improving regional connectivity.

The projects include the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II). The Prime Minister received a grand welcome at the venue, where Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari joined the event.

The 10.1 km stretch of the Dwarka Expressway in Delhi has been built at a cost of Rs 5,360 crore. It will improve multi-modal connectivity by linking Yashobhoomi, Delhi Metro’s Blue and Orange Lines, the upcoming Bijwasan railway station, and the Dwarka bus depot.

The Alipur–Dichaon Kalan stretch of UER-II, completed at a cost of Rs 5,580 crore, will ease pressure on Delhi’s Inner and Outer Ring Roads. It will also provide direct connectivity to Bahadurgarh and Sonipat, supporting smoother industrial and goods movement across the National Capital Region.

Officials said the projects reflect the government’s broader plan to decongest Delhi and develop world-class infrastructure for the growing needs of the region.
